Chasing the Light

Gabby loves to chase down a laser-light.  She does this with great heart and the determination of an olympic champion. That cat will do anything to get me to shine the light for her.

For example, if I’m busy at the computer she jumps up on the desk and stands with feet firmly planted, gazing into my eyes with a no kidding attitude until I pay attention to her. I know she wants to go after the light.

Once the beam is on, Gabby tears at the speed of light after it. Totally focused, with her own laser-like precision she stalks the point of light, never taking her eyes off of the goal.

That’s how God wants us to be. Christ is the Light of the World. God wants us so focused on following him that nothing else in the world matters. Nothing will deter us or distract us from giving our full attention to Jesus, watching and closely following his every move. Our goal? To be like him, to reflect his light and draw others into that same locked in determination to find, focus on, and follow him.

Hi Gayle, As I read how God wants us to be with Him in this little story I was struck with this thought—-you turn everyday events, whether animal, human or “holy” inspired, into thinking (learning) thoughts for those of us lucky enough to have found your web site. Thank you & God Bless you, your writing ability & your poetry!!
